This section includes links to organisations and services who provide support and information to parents. It also includes a number of booklets which can be downloaded.

The aim of Limerick Social Service Council (LSSC) Child and Family Service is to enable and assist parents to enjoy and participate more fully in their child’s development. It includes the following services:

The Parent Support & Outreach Service
The Community Mothers Programme
The Teen Parent Support Programme

These services are provided free of charge and are available to all parents in Limerick City and County.

Parenting Limerick is a network of organisations that provide parenting and family support in Limerick City. They work together to provide parents with the information and support that they need to be the best parents they can. For further information refer to the ‘Love Parenting’ website

Limerick Parenting Calendar Jan – June 2024 has been collated through submissions from Parenting Limerick partners and other stakeholders. All programmes listed fulfil the function of supporting parents in their role as a parent.

Cork CYPSC (Children & Young People’s Services Committee) compiled a very useful set of 6 leaflets for parents of children 0 – 24, giving simple advice on children’s social and emotional wellbeing for each stage of their development. The leaflets can be downloaded here.

Help My Kid Learn developed by National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA), is a simple website that brings together relevant information for parents and the wider community to support children’s literacy and numeracy development.

The website’s purpose is to provide fun activities that parents can do with their children, to develop their literacy and numeracy. It includes general information, fun activities and useful tips. ‘Help My Kid Learn’ is a website, where people can see that supporting a child’s literacy and numeracy development is a natural, easy and fun activity that can be integrated into any part of their day.
