The Child Care (Amendment) Act 2024 which came into effect on the 30th September 2024 has resulted in a number of changes to legislation, including The Children First Act 2015.

From the 30th September 2024, Schedule 2 of the Children First Act 2015 includes School Age Services and Childminding Services registered with Tusla. This means that the following are Mandated Persons:

  1. The person who is registered with Tusla as providing an Early Years, School Age or Childminding Service (the person named on the Tusla Register of Services)
  2. Any person working with children in a Tusla Registered Early Years or School Age Service
