Childcare Committees Ireland (CCI) have just published the 2015/2016 version of ‘A Parent’s Guide to the National Childcare Funding Programmes.’ Limerick Childcare Committee are delighted to be part of this publication which outlines the National Childcare Funding Programmes available to parents. That is, the
1. Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme (ECCE), better known as the Free Pre-School Year
2. Community Childcare Subvention Scheme (CCS)
3. Training and Employment Childcare (TEC) Programmes, of which they are 3 Strands
- Childcare Education and Training Support programme (CETS)
The CETS Programme formerly catered for FAS and VEC training course participants and now provides childcare on behalf of the Local Education and Training Boards. -
After-School Child Care programme (ASCC)
The ASCC is administered on behalf of the Department of Social Protection (DSP) and provides afterschool care for primary school children for certain categories of working parents and parents on DSP employment programmes (not including Community Employment). -
Community Employment Childcare programme (CEC)
The CEC is administered on behalf of the Department of Social Protection (DSP) and provides childcare for children of parents who are participating on Community Employment schemes.
The Guide provides parents with general information on the programmes, including how to access a place if you are eligible under one of the schemes.
